The stories of Chris McCandless and Evan Ratliff are very similar as both men wanted to vanish from the social eye for an extended period of time. This task for a guy like Chris who told no one was far easier then it was for Evan who announced it to the entire country. While Chris had to dodge a small portion of people who were looking for him Evan had anyone who saw his announcement feaverishly searching for him and the appealing cash prize.

Winter never has been this great I thought. Never before has the snow fallen each and every day for a week straight. School was canceled every single day, it was like a VACATION!! Everyday I would wake up and start getting dressed for the snowy weather outside. This process took about fifteen minutes as everything had to be perfect so I could keep warm.
